A Presidential Milestone at Mega Market

We were honoured to host His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the commissioning of the Mega Market Flour Milling Plant in Mutare. The visit recognised the partnership between business and government and the shared journey towards a stronger, more self-reliant Zimbabwe.

Our plant processes 300 tonnes of wheat per day and produces white bread flour, cake flour, self-raising flour, and biscuit flour. This US$23 million investment supports quality food production, creates jobs, strengthens supply chains, and helps reduce the import bill.

Our CEO, Shiraan Ahmed, spoke to Zimbabwe’s momentum and resilience. He highlighted the role of modern manufacturing in driving development, supporting the economy, and building skills across the country. He reaffirmed Mega Market’s commitment to invest in people, operate responsibly, and continue scaling capacity so that progress is widely shared.

The President praised the plant as clear evidence of rising private-sector confidence under the Second Republic. We share that confidence. With a capable team, trusted partners, and advanced milling technology, Mega Market is proud to contribute to national food security and long-term industrialisation.
